Comlux signs its first ACJ320 neo cabin completion

Comlux is pleased to announce that Comlux Completion signed a VIP interior completion for an ACJ320 neo aircraft. The aircraft is to be delivered green by Airbus in September 2019 and is scheduled to take approximately 10 months to complete within Comlux’ Indianapolis facilities. This Airbus Corporate Jet completion is for a private customer based in Asia.

The four design firms – Alberto Pinto Design, DesignQ, Unique Aircraft, Winch Design – partnering with Comlux for the future neo and MAX cabin products, have been invited to submit their design concepts for Comlux’s customer. In order to shorten the cabin completion downtime to 10 months, the final design is expected to be selected by Q3 2017.

Rockwell Collins has signed a letter of intent with Comlux, a leader in services for VIP aircraft, to provide complete cabin solutions for a number of select VIP aircraft under a global cooperation agreement. The deal, signed today at the Paris Air Show, includes Rockwell Collins’ Venue™ cabin management system, VIP seating, divans, Nano 3X™ interior lighting and the option for Inmarsat Jet ConneX (JX) service for Wi-Fi connectivity.

Comlux is pleased to announce that Comlux Completion, it’s Completion and Services center based in Indianapolis IN, has delivered the first custom VIP Cabin EASA-certified SBJ.

The VIP aircraft, owned by Kazakhmys PLC Corporation in Kazakhstan, features 19 certified seats for Taxi-Take-off & Landing in a contemporary corporate interior designed and engineered by Comlux. It includes a VIP area at the front with a club-4 seating across from a side-facing sofa and an executive section with 15 First class seats in a 2 x1, 3-abreast configuration.

After a 12 month downtime for the completion, including cabin certification as per the stringent safety and quality regulations of EASA, the aircraft has been delivered to Comlux KZ, the regional VIP operator of Fly Comlux in central Asia, which will take care of the operations of the aircraft in service. The SBJ is also the first aircraft of the type available on the charter market.

Comlux Completion LLC, the Completion and Service Center of the Comlux Group has signed two new projects, one Global 6000 and one BBJ, with repeat customers based in Asia. Both projects are for major refurbishments and will be performed in the Indianapolis facility. After a busy schedule in 2016 with not only multiple VIP completions (1 ACJ330, 1 BBJ and 1 SBJ), but also a steady stream of maintenance clients (3 BBJ, 1 ACJ), Comlux is growing its backlog.

The undisclosed owner of the BBJ is represented by the aircraft management company, Sino Jet, led by CEO Jenny Lau. Jenny’s involvement was integral in the selection of the best service center for this project. It is the second BBJ managed by Sino Jet coming to Indianapolis. The workscope will consist of various cabin reconfigurations including adding a one of a kind custom sideledge pull out bed to allow more sleeping positions on the aircraft for more comfort on board.

Comlux also signed another repeat customer for a new Global 6000 aircraft. They have selected Comlux to perform a completely new and luxurious cabin interior design to include all new soft goods, seat designs, metallic treatments, fixtures, wood, stone counter tops, and decorative trim in order to provide the client a true one-of-a-kind experience reflecting his own personal flare.

Comlux America, the Completion and Service Center of Comlux, based in Indianapolis, IN, has teamed with 4 key industry designers to develop multiple interior design and floorplan concepts for the next generation narrow body interiors; specifically the Airbus ACJ neo and the BBJ MAX 8 aircraft. The design companies participating include Alberto Pinto Design, DesignQ, Unique Aircraft and Winch Design.

Comlux America’s goal in this initiative has been to obtain designer perspectives and concepts to capture the different cultures, styles and tastes of potential VIP customers. Specifically, each designer was required to develop unique rendering concepts for the Neo and MAX 8, each with unique materials, styles and concepts. Once these developments are finalized, Comlux and the designers will work separately to showcase these VIP design packages and Comlux will issue the concept books to potential future customers to help promoting one another in the industry. The timeline of these concept books is on target to be ready to showcase early 2017.

Comlux has launched a new Forward Auxiliary Center Tank System for the Airbus A321. The new system will allow VIP operators to realize a range increase of up to 500nm (25 pax) while commercial operators can expect up to 300nm (160 pax).

In collaboration with Airbus specialists, Comlux Engineers developed this new design to complement the two existing Airbus Additional Center Tanks (ACTs). The design offers a light weight, optimized, yet cost efficient solution for the A321 platform ensuring minimized downtime for installation. The system is scheduled to be completed and ready for installation on the first ACJ321, 15 months after program initiation which corresponds to Q3 2017. As 40% of all A321s are provisioned with ACTs, there are already clear potential candidates who would benefit from this option of more range, including various major airlines.
